Course Description:

A tracheostomy can have detrimental effects on developmental milestones. With appropriate intervention, children with tracheostomies may improve their ability to reach key developmental milestones.

Course objectives:

  • Name two indications for pediatric tracheostomy
  • Describe how a tracheostomy can negatively impact developmental milestones
  • Explain how a speaking valve can help improve speech in a patient with tracheostomy

Speaker:
Megan Quinn, MSN, CPNP-PC
