Course Description:
This course addresses access and equity of care for patients who have undergone a total laryngectomy. Specific barriers such as race, culture, socioeconomic status, distance from clinics, and clinic resources will be discussed. Practical solutions for improving equitable access will also be discussed.
Course objectives:
- Describe various barriers that impact access to care for patients post-laryngectomy
- Discuss strategies to improve clinical resources in order to provide evidence based care
- Summarize strategies to enhance care for patients who live a distance from clinics
