Laryngectomy Bootcamp

Whether you’re new to laryngectomy care or looking to strengthen your clinical skills, this course is designed to equip you with the foundational knowledge and practical tools you need to confidently support patients after total laryngectomy along every step of their journey.

Laryngectomy Bootcamp is a self-paced, online learning experience that blends education with real-world application. Over five focused modules, we’ll walk through the laryngectomy patient journey—from initial diagnosis and pre-operative counseling to voice prosthesis management, troubleshooting, and long-term pulmonary rehabilitation.

When you complete this course, you'll be able to:

• Understand the anatomical and physiological changes following laryngectomy
• Counsel patients on communication options and prosthesis candidacy
• Navigate common challenges, including voice prosthesis troubleshooting
• Confidently manage pulmonary rehabilitation and stomal attachments
• Support patients in achieving independence, confidence, and quality of life

How does Laryngectomy Bootcamp work?

Laryngectomy Bootcamp is made up of five video modules, all presented by members of the Atos Medical Clinical Education Team. Each module includes video demonstrations, clinical guidance, and practical tips from experienced professionals in the field.

Learning objectives:

• Describe basic troubleshooting techniques for managing a voice prosthesis
• Differentiate between three prostheses commonly used to produce transesophageal voice
• Describe how an HME works and how to select an HME

ASHA CEUS: In addition to being a great resource, Laryngectomy Bootcamp is also offered for 0.4 ASHA CEUs. Advance your skills while earning continuing education credits.
