Breathing

A Heat and Moisture Exchanger (HME) is designed to ensure pulmonary rehabilitation and help reduce coughing, mucus production and chest infections. The key function is to moisturize and heat up inhaled air. HMEs should be changed every day as needed and depending on situations. An adhesive is typically used to attach HMEs to the stoma. Different adhesive shapes and strengths are available to accommodate individual needs. An adhesive is typically changed once per day.
